San Rossore Migliarino Park
A protected area of over 23,000 hectares along the Tuscan coast, steps from Piazza dei Miracoli: umbrella pine forests, dunes, marshlands and woods host extraordinary biodiversity between Pisa and Viareggio. It is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

The Estate and Villa del Gombo
The San Rossore Estate, about 5,000 hectares, was the presidential residence of the Republic. Today it is open to the public on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by electric train. Villa del Gombo, the former presidential residence commissioned by Giovanni Gronchi, is an example of bioarchitecture inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, now restored and open by reservation.
Here horses, fallow deer, wild boars and — since their natural return in 2014 — wolves roam free, helping to regulate wildlife. The San Rossore pine nut, harvested from umbrella pine forests, is a prized local product.
The coast and the Tombolo
The coastal strip preserves one of the Mediterranean's best-preserved dune systems. The Tenuta di Tombolo, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, protects wild beaches where the sea meets the scrubland. The Gombo Beach is only reachable from within the park.
The wetlands behind the dunes host flamingos, herons, black-winged stilts and many other species. The Serchio river, crossing the northern part of the park, offers kayaking routes "from mountains to sea".
Lake Massaciuccoli and activities
Lake Massaciuccoli in the north can be explored by boat through reed beds. On its shores stand ruins of a Roman villa and the Puccini Museum of Torre del Lago, where the composer lived and worked.
E-bikes available for park exploration, guided nature trails, birdwatching and educational activities for schools and families. Bus line 26 connects Pisa directly to the estate.

La Tana del Cinghiale will open in 2027. The country house is being prepared to offer accommodation immersed in the Tuscan countryside. The apartments will be available as holiday rentals.
